Pelahatchie has a new family business in downtown, Southern Grace & Gifts, LLC. Owners Jamie Perry and Suzanne Lanthrip.

“God led us to this and praise, which is how we got our name” said Lanthrip. “Now, customers don’t have to drive out of town to get gifts or prom dresses and tuxes.”

The gift store has pottery, frames, Girlie Girl and Southern Limits t-shirts, Musee Balls, jewelry, Cajun Country Who Dat and Slap Your Mama dips, SIC cups, scarfs and candles.

“We are open to suggestions of what customers want to see in our store. We have a suggestion box at our counter,” said Lanthrip, a nurse at River Oaks in Flowood. She and her husband, Billy, live in the Walters area with their children Ashtin, a freshman at Mississippi State, and Chaney, a tenth grader at Pelahatchie High School.

Perry was a stay-at-home-mom before beginning this business venture. Originally from South Jackson, she said she is now where she needs to be, living in the Cross Roads area with her husband, Brad, and her children, Gabby and Madison, students at East Rankin Academy.

“We want to be a part of the community and helping Pelahatchie to grow,” said Lanthrip.

Southern Grace & Gifts will have balloons and gift boxes for Valentine’s Day that can be delivered to the school and in-town. For more information, call 601-759-5019.
