Sam Williams was introduced to his football team minutes after being named head football coach at Pelahatchie High School (PHS). He will be replacing Coach Bill Ward, who retired after 29 years.

Williams formerly served as the assistant football coach at Northwest Rankin High School, and, also served as head track coach and assistant soccer coach for the last three to four years. A Brandon native, Williams attended Northwest Rankin where he played football from 2007-2009 before playing football at Mississippi State University from 2009-2012. He is a two-time bowl game champion and three-time Egg Bowl champion. “As the leader of the PHS team, in addition to a winning mentality,” said Williams, “I want the team to learn to be quality young men; to have values; and to do things in the right way.”
