Doug Till is the Pelahatchie High School (PHS) Parent of the Year. He founded the Pelahatchie Touchdown Club, along with Coach Ward, 26 years ago, and has served as its president 23 of the 26 years.

“Doug is the guy that is always willing to help,” said Principal Bryan Marshall. “He is involved in the touchdown club and has also served as the representative for the school bond issue for Pelahatchie. He is willing to do anything above and beyond the call of duty for the Pelahatchie Schools.

A Pelahatchie native, both sets of Till’s grandparents settled here.  He participated in football, baseball and track as a student, and now supports his sons, Trey and Sam, plus nephews, Gunner and Noah, in school activities.  His wife, Kimberly, is the PHS secretary.

“I love Pelahatchie, and I love my school and the children,” said Till. “The life blood of the town is the school.”

In addition to providing meals for football players, The Touchdown Club helps buy equipment for the players and anything else the players need.

Till, formerly an operations technician with Gulf South Pipeline in Flowood, also served with O’Neal Steel for 17 years, but is now disabled. He also served as a Pelahatchie alderman for six years. His latest school activity was promoting the Rankin County School District bond issue that passed in March.
