Children’s Advocacy Centers of Mississippi (CACM) announced today Tim Clue and Laura van Dernoot Lipsky have been selected as keynote speakers for the 4th Annual One Loud Voice: A Multidisciplinary Team Approach to Child Abuse Conference. This year’s conference will take place at the Golden Nugget Biloxi Hotel & Casino from Wednesday, April 5 to Thursday, April 6.

Tim Clue will speak on “Teamwork, Motivation and Humor” on April 5 at 8:30 a.m. Clue, a comedian from Chicago, brings his experience from years as an award-winning educator and decades in stand-up comedy. Fulfilling his calling as a humorous motivational speaker, Tim’s aim is to bring “social” back into the meeting space one funny experience at a time.

Laura van Dernoot Lipsky is the founder and director of The Trauma Stewardship Institute and author of Trauma Stewardship: An Everyday Guide to Caring for Self While Caring for Others. As the luncheon keynote speaker, Laura will provide conference participants her insight into the lasting affects that exposure to suffering, hardship, crisis and trauma have on both individuals and communities. 

“Tim and Laura bring a special balance to this year’s conference,” says Karla Tye, CACM Executive Director. “We’re excited to witness Tim’s motivational humor as we tackle difficult topics like trauma and suffering with Laura. We are honored to have them both and look forward to bringing these nationally recognized subject-area experts to Mississippi to provide the most updated practice and research-informed skills to our dedicated professionals.”

CACM is proud to host the annual One Loud Voice conference, bringing together partners from all disciplines with interest in the issue of child abuse, including those in investigation, assessment, intervention, prosecution, policy-making and education. Continuing education for social workers, law enforcement officers, attorneys, guardian ad litems and mental health providers have been approved.
